I think it’s time for me to present this project I’ve been talking and showing studies about. After several months spent to build the story, find a adequate narrative line and a graphic style fitting with the subject I want to talk about, I took the plunge and started drawing the first pages. I would like to use this blog to keep the track of my progression in the realization of this project to which I will refer using it’s temporary title:“The White Dragon”. The story is about the peregrinations of two young westerners traveling in Asia after their studies. Afraid of losing the liberty they believe to have earned by traveling, they refuse to go home and soon realize that none can be free of himself. In this period of Life where everything is called into doubt, determined by years of studies but not willing to be determined by a simple function in society, those daydreamers keep on getting depressed as time goes by. But an encounter with an extravagant couple of retired people back from a trip in Northern Sichuan, the famous province of Kham will pull them out of their lethargic everyday life. Rich and willing to pay our young heroes to investigate the reality of an old Tibetan myth, they will offer them a deal they can’t refuse: money and adventure. And so begins their mystic quest in eastern Tibet.
The objective is to have a well-built project by the end of next September in order to present it to a comics contest in Geneva.
